We are through two months of 2026, and I am reflecting on all the work I have put into CF Events. I want to share this part of the journey with you.
February was the month of getting the hard stuff done for me. I finalized all of my LLC documents, set up so many accounts, and tried to remain positive through all the hoops that you need to jump through as CF Events starts doing business. My mantra for the last little bit has been “it's just 30 minutes.” Rather than spending time on things that are not productive for me, I have tried to use every minute to its full potential. This has helped me stay consistent, putting in a little bit of work every day.
I learned that not every event is one that I want to work on, and that I need to protect my creativity and energy when it comes to inquiries. It is very exciting when someone reaches out to you to work on a project. My wheels start turning instantly, and I can already see a vision. This has burned me twice this month as those inquiries did not turn into bookings; meanwhile, I was already emotionally invested in the event. I am confident that I will be able to bring events to life in ways that are meaningful and valuable to clients, I just need to book them first…
One of the most valuable lessons I have learned working in the events industry is to create work for yourself. In my first months working with Indigo 355 came to understand that when people are not booking, you need to create bookings for yourself. This keeps your mind fresh and takes the feeling of disappointment out of slow times. This month, I have been planning a networking event for local event vendors. I am hoping that this will turn into referrals down the road for all who attend. Planning this event has kept me positive. I feel that I am doing all the right things, and eventually, they will compound.
Cheers!
